The History

The history

Located in the main square in the heart of Lytham, The Deacon takes pride of place in the old RBS bank. Originally the Williams Deacon Bank, who’s roots can be traced back to the 1700’s, it was an integral part of Lytham’s history and housed in a very distinctive building, so we were determined to preserve the memory of this historic bank. Through painstaking restoration of the bank’s traditional features and meticulous brand development, we believe we have created a truly unique modern British tavern. The team have worked tirelessly to deliver this project and are really excited about welcoming everyone through our doors.

The Bar

With over 140 gins from around the world, international whiskeys, classic and new world wines, beers and ciders, we have a huge selection of drinks to choose from. Including our very own Deacon Ale and Deacon Lager. Piped through our impressive copper pipes that span the whole bar area, our precious beer is kept cool and safe behind bars in the original vault. Be sure to check it out when you visit. From classic cocktails to tasty tonics, you’ll be sure to find a new (or old) favourite. With extensive knowledge of our impressive gin collection, be sure to ask the staff about our perfect serves.

We offer LIVE music every Friday, Saturday & Sunday evening from a huge range of local artists. As well as our weekend live entertainment, we also offer our Pub Quiz every Wednesday evening from – 8pm with cash, prizes & the pride of being crowned “quiz champion” all up for grabs!

The Food

The food

The menu offers everything from small plates, salads, sandwiches and Sunday roasts, whilst at the same time combining classic pub favourites like fish & chips with modern dishes like seafood linguine and roasted cajun chicken. In The Deacon we have created a relaxed dining experience, where restored traditional features sit seamlessly alongside a contemporary glazed dining area.
